Sonya_DlugAt Caldwell Trust Company there are many different ways and many different services that we can provide our clients. Gene illustrates one of those examples.

Gene is in her nineties. She lives independently at a retirement community. Her husband of over 60 years recently passed away. He was an accountant and was responsible for paying a lot of the household bills.

Gene’s trust was held at another financial institution that closed their local trust department. Her communication with her new trust officer would not have been in person which she really needed. Gene called me and stated that she wanted to make some changes to her legal documents. We actually contacted her attorney and went with her to her attorney’s office to help explain those changes she wanted to make.

After spending time with Gene, we discovered she had additional needs. Her husband had various accounts at different institutions that made it hard for her to track and manage. We easily consolidated these accounts and also created a chart for her that explained where the accounts were, what the values were and where they were held. This helped Gene understand her overall financial position.

Gene did not have anyone that could act as a healthcare advocate for her. Her friends and family were in a similar position. They were either elderly or unfortunately deceased. We introduced her to a care manager that we had worked with in the past. They instantly clicked. The healthcare manager had thoroughly reviewed Gene’s health status, her medications, her doctors and her health records with her. This also became another person that Gene could trust to care for her needs.

Gene’s story is just one example of the services we provide our clients. And that’s just what we do at Caldwell Trust Company.
