VENICE, FL—Caldwell Trust Company has promoted Sonya Dlug to the position of trust officer, according to Roland G. "Kelly" Caldwell, Jr., CEO & president. She is based in Caldwell’s downtown Sarasota office at 1561 Main Street.
"We have been gratified to watch Sonya's career growth here, from her entry-level position as a part-time intern to her new position as trust officer," Kelly Caldwell says. Sonya joined Caldwell Trust Company in 2003, working as an intern while attending then-Manatee Community College (now State College of Florida) and the University of South Florida. Upon her graduation from USF with a B.S. in business in 2005, she became a fulltime trust assistant and later a trust associate. She had been promoted to the position of assistant trust officer in 2009.
Since joining Caldwell, Sonya has completed Florida Trust School programs sponsored by the Florida Bankers Association, advancing through Graduate Level II. She has also completed programs in fiduciary income tax, basics of probate practice, special needs trusts and estate tax planning.
