Georgia Tech College of Engineering Names R.G. “Kelly” Caldwell, Jr., to 2010 Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni

VENICE, FL—Georgia Tech College of Engineering (COE) has named R.G. “Kelly” Caldwell, Jr., to its 2010 Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni according to COE Dean Don Giddens. Caldwell was one of only 18 chosen as Distinguished Engineering Alumni this year. He was honored this spring at the 2010 College of Engineering Induction Awards Ceremony, held at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center Ballroom in Atlanta.

Dean Giddens, himself a past recipient of the Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award, said “The College of Engineering places a great deal of emphasis on quality and innovation.” He described the 2010 honorees as “true role models for future generations of engineers who demonstrate a solid technological Georgia Tech education, a competitive spirit, and drive for excellence.”

Kelly Caldwell is CEO and president of Caldwell Trust Company, an independent trust company with offices in Venice and Sarasota, FL. Under his guidance, the company has grown in both size and capabilities. It currently has approximately $400 million dollars in assets under management, divided among investment management accounts for individuals and trustee accounts. Established in 1993, the firm currently manages approximately $400 million in assets for clients throughout the United States.
