The Venice Estate Planning Council and the Community Foundation of Sarasota County sponsored a talk on January 8 by Natalie Choate, an estate planning lawyer with the Boston-based firm of Nutter McClennen & Fish. Wendy Fishman, Caldwell vice president and trust officer, introduced the speaker to members of the Venice Estate Planning Council.“Estate planning professionals swear by Natalie’s two books, Life and Death Planning for Retirement Benefits and The QPRT Manual,” Wendy said. “She has written numerous articles for Estate Planning, Tax Management, Trusts and Estates and other professional journals.”

Natalie has spoken at major tax institutes and other programs across the country. She has been quoted in the New York Times, Forbes, Business Week and The Wall Street Journal. She is an editorial adviser of Trusts and Estates magazine and writes a monthly column for MorningstarAdvisor.com. In 2010, she was named trust and estates “Lawyer of the Year” for Boston by BestLawyers.com. She is a former Chairman of the Employee Benefits Committee of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Natalie is a Boston native and a graduate of Radcliffe College and Harvard Law School.
