Caldwell Trust Company was recently honored by The Venice Area Chamber of Commerce as its 2014 Business of the Year at an event attended by some 300 area business people. The Chamber’s 35th Annual Business of the Year Awards luncheon banquet, held at Plantation Golf & Country Club, was the setting for the announcement of winners in five categories. Caldwell Trust Company was chosen from a field of 12 nominees as the winner in the large business category. Event co-hosts Jim Kuhlman of Stonegate Bank and Tiffany Steffees of A Catered Affair presented a commemorative plaque to R. G. “Kelly” Caldwell Jr., CEO and president of Caldwell Trust Company.

Our hope was that the timing would work in our favor as we ended up being nominated with some really successful businesses in our community such as Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory.
It was quite timely with some of our current events and projects; our biggest being building our new headquarters due to our planned growth. We thought including a hard hat with our 20th anniversary icon on it was appropriate and creative as we just completed celebrations and promotions of our 20th anniversary in 2013. Lastly, Kelly and his family are long-time Venice residents. All fit the necessary requirements so nicely. We had fun putting this presentation together and we're absolutely thrilled that we won such an honor.
