During lunch one day Sandy Pepper said, “Wouldn’t it be nice if we could provide “Christmas” to a family that may not otherwise have one. But where do we start?”
Gina Jordan immediately thought of Children First, Inc. which is a private charitable, non-profit organization that serves over 600 of Sarasota County’s most vulnerable children, birth to five years of age and their families.
Gina reached out to Children First to inquire about potential Christmas giving programs. They chose to adopt a family and provide them gifts from their “wish list” that would be given to the family. Their adopted family consisted of a mom, her pre-teen child and toddler son. The son attends the facility located in Venice. Children First provided us with their wish list. Each of us participated in buying items that we thought would make their Christmas more joyful: toys, clothes, pjs, slippers, books, gift cards, etc. Our co-worker, Debbie, did a wonderful job of wrapping all the gifts.
The Sarasota team and all involved were thankful they had the opportunity to make this family’s Christmas a little brighter!
