Susan Hines teaches Students about Stocks and Investments

Why would an estate planner visit a middle school? Certainly Susan Hines never went to SKY Academy to look for clients among the four classes of eighthgraders— some 125 students—that she met there. Her mission was more elementary.

As a Caldwell vice president and trust officer with a doctorate in law, Susan recognized the value of simplicity in teaching the SKY students. She introduced them to the basics of the stock market and explained how their studies in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) underpin the many complex activities that run the financial operations of the entire world.

2013 Was a Strong Year for Caldwell Trust Company

Caldwell Trust Company experienced healthy growth in several areas in 2013 according to R. G. “Kelly” Caldwell Jr., CEO and president. “Our assets under management increased from $560 million at the end of 2012 to $700 million by December 31, 2013,” he says. That growth came mostly in an unexpected sector.
